Stratford Point Lighthouse - current structure first lit in 1881 and automated in 1970. Cast iron and brick lined tower is 35ft tall and sits on a concrete foundation. Actively used by US coast Guard.

I love how the sun illuminated the flowers and lets them stand out against a fairly chaotic background.

Light illuminating a single specific surface can be all you need.
I really enjoy the layers of different kinds of plants along the trail.
Even the dead or dying plants have their own unique appeal. The lack of color contributes to the experience of seeing a plant not knowing instantly from the color where it likely is in its life.
I often find the negative space of a cloudless sky as a great background canvas for all kinds of subjects if you get low enough and expose for the sky.
It goes with the other walls. I feel like it would be interesting to go out and search for gates, exploring how people divide, isolate, and possibly protect themselves from the outside world. I guess businesses could certainly be in the mix as well
The little patch of grass on the bottom was bothering me but then we lost the wall in the top right and a portion of the water in the top left. It feels less contained without that wall.
Which speaks to you more? Often I feel like things just ask to be photographed. I can’t always fully articulate why or what they’re saying to me but I can’t bring myself to pass up the opportunity.
I often find myself drawn to looking up at things like street lamp posts and utility poles of all kinds. I find they make for interesting geometric photographic opportunities. They also provide opportunities for stark contrast with the background sky
